Member: 975916 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 1 | profiles app comparisons/reviews Which do you use and why do you like/dislike them? I like Setting Profiles but some things don't work as well as I would hope. Location recognition isn't very good. I can be 5miles from home but my home profile will toggle on. Also I would love to have the ability to key a rule off of another profile being enabled/disabled. Also it would be great to have rules disable profiles or enable multiple profiles. Does anyone have the recent update to Settings Profile? App Market asks me to pay for the upgrade when I already have the full version installed. I've tried Llama Profiles I think it is called. Much better about knowing where you are location-wise but it uses phone "cells" instead of lat/lon. So my work and home locations overlap. And my settings for each location are very different. Don't want sound at work but sometimes I get it because I'm in an overlapped cell. Lat/lon would be more accurate. But with cells you don't have to have gps turned on all the time eating up your battery. Also with Llama you can only have one profile active at a time. Profile Valet is simpler but has no automatic toggling. No rules to automatically change profiles. Haven't tried others yet. I want the most versatile one that will control the most options. Haven't tried Tasker yet, Setting Profiles does allow you to launch an app. But only one. Give me some feedback. Also would like to see ,apk files here for various profile apps. |
