Wink [ Stock Rom / Rooting ] All About Zenfone 4 Here

For those who wanted to reflash your device because of having such issue such as bootloop, softbricked and etc, you can download its system.img file from here:

For firmware 4.3.11 , download it here.
For firmware 6.5.32, download it here.
For firmware 6.5.34, download it here.
For firmware 6.5.35 - download it here.

For adb tools including rooting tools, download it here.

Instructions for flasing the system.img file

Before doing flasing the system.img file, you must install these:

Intel Android driver setup

Asus Android USB driver (Official link for Asus Android USB driver - click here)

> Then, extract the adb rooting tool and then click OPEN.cmd.

> For entering the droidboot mode, make sure that your device is enabling USB debugging feature and enter the command below:

adb reboot bootloader

Or, you just turn it off and then press power + vol up to enter the droidboot mode.

> Run these commands to clear some partitions in the device:

fastboot erase data
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase system

> Move the system.img file into the adb tool folder and run these command below to preform it:

IMPORTANT: DO NOT EXTRACT THE FIRMWARE FILE!!!

-->For flashing 4.3.11 firmware
fastboot flash system 4.3.11-system-image.img.gz

-->For flashing 6.5.32 firmware
fastboot flash system 6.5.32-system-image.img.gz

-->For flashing 6.5.34 firmware

-->For flashing 6.5.35 firmware
fastboot flash system 6.5.35-system-image.img.gz
> After done flashing, reboot the device and that's it.

NOTE

1. In order to enabling the update, you must perform the full unroot by go to SuperSU, and then go to Settings and scroll it down until you will see Full Unroot. Tap it to unroot it and then apply the update via OTA or manual procedure.

2. It is possible to update the firmware via these system image file but you should also need to flash alongside these file according to the firmware version: boot.img and fastboot.img via these command below (both files should be obtained from downloading the firmware OTA zip file and extract to obtain these files):

fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash fastboot fastboot.img

One more thing, you don't need to wipe these user, userdata and/or cache partition to update the firmware with system image files.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Don't extract the gzipped firmware file in order to flash it and this will causing fastboot failing to read these files! Just download and flash it!
