Member: 1662349 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 2 | What is the best modern smart phone for easy modding/hacking I am looking to buy new phone. Right now I have Nokia N900, and I want something similar, I like open source software and keypads :-), so Android would work very well too. I am looking for something in price range <$500, and I would of course buy unlocked phone but I want to have more control over phone I own, so I want to be able to change IMEI on it when I want for example. No reason, just paranoia, don't like to be "tagged" anywhere I go. Also would be nice to be able to swap SIM cards without turning it off. I know some phones allow 2 sims, but I want more! I am wondering which make/model/version should I buy that would give me most options for modification? Thanks for you advice in advance. P.S. I am an electrical engineer, but most of my 15 year experience is in C/C++ programming, FPGA etc which has nothing to do with phones. I have experience working with hardware as well and I have well equipped electronics lab. |
