Activation - Licence

I have some questions , if i have a working software but i need format computer and reinstall the ATF , how to put working again?
I need save any specific licence file ? If yes , where is that file located ?
In fact i dont know how security file is done in ATF, if is the same file compatible to diferent computers , or the licence is created based for exemple reading HDD hardware ID and that file only work in that HDD.

Someone have more informations about this?

I think is not only that file , i have tested in two different computers and when start the software ask for the activation.

yup not only you need also to get H.D.D SN to complete the compatible
use any program to get it like this one "Partition Wizard"
