Member: 2206567 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Hi, is it possible to access the user area on the chip and read all data? I know this is not the correct thread, but it seems that here are all the people with the needed knowledge I've a bricked Samsung galaxy Note 2 and it's only booting in ODIN but won't write flash. Also no ProductName on Odin- Screen. I want to unsolder the Chip and connect it to a SD- Card Reader. Is this the right way to access the Files? The Phone is not so important; need the Photos and adressbook... Than the phone can move to the trash Please help! regards from Germany Marcel |

If just you not have Product Name, must need of to try to restore with eMMc Direct Connection, (cpu in board or out is the same), but first of all you have need of Format and Erase for write after all partition, so, when you Erase/Format have lost any data in this eMMc. Other thingh, over 10 device only 2 can restore the other 8 have need to replace eMMc. With Atf and eMMc damaged you cannot restore "User Data", Br allumts

Member: 2206567 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | another solution Hi, that is very sad Found some geeks who connected their Nintendo 3DS with eMMC directly to a SD- Card adapter and where able to read and write on the Chip. And the eMMC was still soldered in.. So I gave the Galaxy Note a last chance: I've connected GND,CMD, D0 and CLK (on PCB) to an SD- Adapter and tryed to read the eMMC with a cardreader. For this to work The Mobile must be on to power the eMMC and there is the next problem. The Nintendo is sending CLK and CMD to the eMMC but when another CLK line is already connected the nintendo'll stop sending signals to the chip and that is the trick... I've used a logic analyzer to monitor these Data- Lines but my Cardreader won't send CLK so I need to find anoter SD- cardreader. Maybe the eMMC isn't fully broken; only the bootsektor maybe? regards Marcel |

New Feature in ATF 10.20 is an option in ATF Plus --> eMMC Tool 2.0 that allows you to READ/WRITE eMMC Chips that are not connected to the Phone's PCB. Link: INFO: eMMC ADAPTER (Direct Connection) Br allumts
