Member: 1078009 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 12 | "Qualcomm Bootloader" for WP8 Lumias? in WP7 days, i was very happy that you guys released the qualcomm bootloader for the Lumia 800. I personally didn't use it for SIM-unlocking my device, but i loved to cook my own custom roms and enjoyed having my Lumia 800 "rooted". So, the "unlocking" process on WP8 Lumias is kind of "stucked"... And it seems there'll never be either root, or Interop Unlock. That's pretty sad, as i'm really enjoying my Interop Unlocked ATIV S. So, i would like to know: Are you guys working on something like InteropUnlocking Lumia phones? Could there maybe be a way like on Lumia 710/800 with that qualcomm bootloader stuff? Maybe there could be done something with ATF JTAG? Like boot-repairing a "modified" boodloader? If there is no success in software-methods, i would love to try your hardware-solutions ;-) As i have no idea, pls let me know! |

Member: 1078009 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 12 | GREAT!! This gives hope Keep up the good work, guys! Btw, i have another quesion: How does this JTAG connection work, or better said, what is this JTAG connection exactly? Because on xda-developers i read, that on retail phones, JTAG fuses are ****n... What does this mean? why does it not matter for atf jtag that the fuses are ****n? Or does this mean that atf jtag only works on developer phones and not on retail ones? Sry, i don't understand And as i can repair boot via ATF JTAG, am i theoretically able to restore a modified bootloader this way? I guess we simply don't have such a modified one right now, right? ;-) And i watched the dolphin clip videos for jtag. In this videos, i can see a "quick-fix.afp" file and a "full-boot.afp" file. What is the difference to the "big-boot.afp" files? So, let's say i want to boot-repair a lumia 920, is it enough to use the "big-boot.afp" file? Sry for many questions. Thx in advance! |

Member: 651945 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 20,117 | @lordmaxey Most retail phones including Nokia have m_debug_all ****n... But with some simple well known technique, you can bypass this as to enable JTAG debug and memory access. There are no "modified boots" because WP8 Lumias all use SECURE BOOT 3.0. Well as Lumia 800, 900 and 710 did not implement secure boot at all (fuse not bl0wn). So in reality, you can put android in 800, 900 and 710 if you really wanted to.... but the same cannot be said when it comes to WP8. I am working on a QFUSE hack as of this moment. But still too early to say what can be achieved. B.R. |

Member: 1078009 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 12 | Hi x-shadow, just another thought came through my mind: Is it possible to make a "full dump" of whole emmc with atf? Can this be done with JTAG, as this seem to be easy to solder. So my thought was: 1. soldering jtag connection to lumia 920 2. dumping emmc 3. trying to "mount" dump file with pc 4. modify reg values to interop unlock 5. write back via jtag So, is this total nonsense? Is it possible to write to emmc via jtag? Or is it "just" possible to write boot partition via jtag? if i assume this might work, maybe just secureboot would detect the modified rom and phone simply won't boot? Would it be possible to disable "secureboot" that way? Probably not, but i hope you can describe this a little to me Thank you! |
