for me, sometimes comes lg at moment where the table is full of phones, and usb ports are busy.
must connect some other tool, cable, connect dongle, in worst case, upgrade to another pack.
takes some time
any software which can do this, use 2 usb ports
1 dongle, 1 box
So ezLG clip is really a good tool for my shop

hyperterminal need pc
and cable connected to it right

So to make your genuis idea we will need this :
1 hand at least
1 cabel
1 FTDI device
1 PC
1 Keypoard

the main idea of the clip is to make it easy
you just need the clip and press power on in phone
PS: I think you didn't get the main idea of clip

ez = eazy / its easy clip for LG

PS2: unlike some boxes this clip doesn't have connection problemes
