3gs glitchy sound

I got a 3gs with a backlight problem.
Fixed that but checking out functions it also has a sound problem.
If i go to settings/sounds and change ringtones it plays them.
The iphone works fine when making calls.
speaker works during calls also.
headphones work for everythign as well.
It's just when playing music or games no sound unless using headphones.
I'm hoping the fix dosen't involve removing the audio chip.

I dont have much luck removing the bigger chips there always sems to be a ruined chip or pads pulled from the board.
I could send it back and tell him to live with it

Thanks
tinner

Hi, check the black capacitors near the audio ic, i recently had problem, but that was the VR1 ic, maybe a component is missing, did you use heat, or iron? could it be the mute switch, or ribbon?
