Member: 2418082 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 1 | 4S - What pins to short to boot without dock connector Trying to troubleshoot water damage. Have logic board outside of case, and watched a youtube video where someone shorted two pins together on the dock connector in order to start up. Anyone know which two? Thanks in advance... Eric P.S. Searched here, did not find answer. |

Member: 2418082 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 1 | OK...I'm trying to upload the photos, but every way I have tried has failed (images are less than the specified size for jpg, and the url idea to photobucket didn't work). Will try another way,. By DZ11, you mean pin number 11? Sorry, learning stages here. |

Member: 2105007 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 40 | Im no longer responding, if you can not do as I explained. There is no point in talking further. Such a simple thing. And yes you can short differnt component to start a phone or even the connector pin directly, but I showd you the easiest way. |

Member: 2418082 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 1 | That's fair enough, don't need another response from you. I appreciate your help. FYI...the images are here: http://i1103.photobucket.com/albums/...%204s/J3.1.jpg http://i1103.photobucket.com/albums/...%204s/J3.2.jpg http://i1103.photobucket.com/albums/...%204s/J3.3.jpg Just trying to learn...the component you mentioned was interesting, didn't even know they existed (a TSW), so I learned already. Member: 2418082 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 1 | Also...what may be simple to you may not be simple to me. I don't see anywhere on this board that before posting a question you must have an Electrical Engineering degree (which I do not have). If that is something which is taken for granted on this board, please let me know, and I will stop wasting everyone's time and valuable space. This forum has a TON of really excellent information, and I have enjoyed reading as much as I can. |

Member: 2289832 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 48 | U have to give 5v to pp5v0 usb no protect line to boot from dock connector. The guy in video shorts home button line to ground maybe. so the phone wake. It is easier to power up from power flex connector. U have to short hold key line to ground. |
