Smile 4S works without SIM but turns off with SIM

Hope this makes sense. I have a 4S that appears to work fully when no SIM inserted (obviously no calls/text at this point).

If I put in SIM it gets signal ok and works as normal for a period then randomly turns off - usually within 10mins sometimes much quicker.

Take the SIM out and it can run and run - tested up to 2hrs.

I had previously repaired the battery connector and it was seen to work for weeks.

Thanks to all that can help

Sounds like something is overheating because of a short. Assemble your phone without the frame and look for hot components.

Thanks jegerjon, I was thinking along same lines.

Strangely, I can't recreate the fault at the moment fully assembled!

The SIM in fault suggests something to do with the RF side but no hot spots yet.

Any one had similar experience?

Thanks for suggestions.
Think it was bad solder joint at the battery connector. Resoldered now and so far so good.
Fingers crossed!!
