Damaged 5S TouchID cable? Want to swap with another Home button flex - GSM-Forum

The previous owner ripped the Home flex with the Touch ID chip. I want to swap the Touch ID chip with another Home flex.

Looking at the chip, there is a bunch of clear epoxy and make it difficult to remove. Any way to dissolve this glue by putting the part into paint thinner? gasoline? etc?

I have never swapped the ic but I have repaired the flex before. So if the damage is on the flex you can solder a new flex on it

The phone was opened with a large suction cup and the cable was torn. Any way to fix that?

As long as there is flex left after the chip you should be good!

Is the home button in 2 parts so you can seperate them?
