IPad mini no power not charging

I have an iPad mini WiFi, wouldn't charge no power dead.

Had caps missing near battery FPC so replaced (not the filter)

Then had 0 v coming out from TriStar : with battery and TriStar attached.

PP3V0_S2R =0V

PP1V8_S2R= 0V

PPVBUS_PROT = 4.95V

ON Q8104 there is vbat voltage of 3.26v which is batt voltage

On Q8104 there is VCC main voltage of 3.86v (low I think)

On Q8104 = Act diode =3.3v (so pmic is not dead )

Not charging and no LCD image lead me to believe pmic fault.

Changed TriStar and have the following :

PP3V0_S2R =2.99V

PP1V8_S2R= 1.79v

PPVBUS_PROT = 4.87V

TriStar outputs seem ok. Now!

Are you able to help shed some light on the diode mode readout for VCC main as I'm getting 176mv which seems low and as seen in the video there seems to be a short near VCC main pads area under pmic or is this just heat build up upon startup on the line?

This happens when charger is plugged in. The battery also drains when attached but fine when left off so it seems there is a short draining it.

I know the pmic needs changing but would like to know a bit more abt the fault as haven't had much work with iPads. It seems a lot of these shorts could be avoided if the design of ground pad placements were thought out more and not surrounding live pads...

Any feedback most welcomed..http://cloud.tapatalk.com/s/5a7352bf...ic%20short.mp4
