Question iPhone 3GS ABSOLUTELY NO SOUND

Hi mates

anyone ever met this problem? No ringer, no earpiece, no mic. NOTHING that is related to sound comes out or in.

Changed lower module, changed also earpiece together with LCD and touch. Just nothing. Charging is ok.

I believe some IC is the problem.... however i do not know which is it.... guess some amplifier. Have no info on this at all. There appears no water damage of any sort.

Any help appreciated mates

thanks

i suppose it is embedded in that IC which is the same position of the 3G. Problem is i cannot find any info if this is it or not damn. Apple are lip bounded on their hardware.... not even a service manual of any sort.

i would wash the board forst just in case was liquid damage, then re-flox the ic
note: if temperature to high over 250 celcuis you will cook the chip

180 /190 deg C is the melting point of the solder so that should be the limit. More than that will damage the IC itself.

Also there is no guarantee that the problem is from the IC. Could be any of the surrounding components too.

my good frind, iphone use lead free soldering, 99.9 % of products do atm
use 250 celcius to re-reflow not to solder or remove 180-190 just does nothing

u could have a v-rail missing but with out schematics is like looking in the dark.
to check v rail only way is to compare with a working iphone

Holy ****! 250? Isn't that dangerous for the surrounding components?

Also since the BGAs are glued , doesnt the heat increase at a higher rate in the IC than the rest of the surroundings?

thanks for sharing the info mate
