You will have a tough time changing the PMIC without the right knowledge, I'd sell the board or give it to someone who knows.

Since you have found out that it is the power IC from your search, you can look somewhere in this forum for the schematic diagram to know its location but you will need an expert to do the changing for you with a rework station and from where you will get the replacement.

Do you have the Schematics?

It's quite easy to diagnose the PMIC.
(You need a Battery with over 3.8V charge)

1. Check for Batt-VCC at C216_AP
2. After connect the Battery, check for 0V at L10_AP and L11_AP
3. Press for 0.5sec the Power-Button and masure at L10_AP and L11_AP. The Voltages must be 1.2V and 1.8V for about 0.75seconds then back to 0V.
4. Press Power-Button longer and check if the Voltages at L10_AP and L11_AP stay.

If all this is ok, the Phone must turn on or go into DFU-Mode.
If this is not ok, tell the results and i will help you furhter.

Hello, i have the same problem. I did all the steps listed above. When i press the power button for short time or long time, the voltages go to 1.2v and 1.8v and just stay there. Phone keeps on drawing 0.6 current from the power supply.

When i connect to computer, it is detected by the computer but iTunes doesn't detect it, so i'm not sure if its in DFU mode or not.

The problem phone came in was with water damage and corrosion around C94_AP, C121_AP and C64_AP.

Power IC was getting hot when connected. I cleaned up the corrosion and power ic was not getting hot anymore but C94_AP was shorted and getting hot. So i removed C94, C121 and C64. Then i replace C94 from another board. C121 and C64 are still removed.

So, is C121 and C64 needed to get out of this situation? what else i can do from here?
