iphone 3gs not charging !

Hi to all !

Could someone advise me on a iphone 3gs ( 16gig ) it has the red dots indicating water damage however it did work normally and charge ok until one day I plugged the charger in and no charge ! I have had the charging block changed but still no charge ! Any soultios for this or How can I improvise a charge on the battery so that I can retrieve some data and photos from the iphone ?

I also have a iphone 3g ( 8 gig ) it was a customers iphone and he had installed cydia and upgraded the baseband to the ipad one.. Problem is now when I try to install a firmware ( custom 4.2.1 using snowbreeze ) the iphone now has no wifi and no baseband is highlighted in settings !

Thank you

mercury

Hi, Check the charging coil for voltage, also the centre capacitor, it needs to show battery voltage.

Thank you .... It may be slightly out of my limited knowledge of electrical capabillities !

is there a quck fix to put some life in the battery ? Enough time for me to backup my photos etc ? That's of course if the charging / data block is ok !
