iPhone 3gs power/sleep button problem...

I have got a iphone 3gs, the power button does not work, I have changed the flex to a known working one and still the same problem, no response from the iphone. It will power on with the mains charger but will not wake when pressing the power button.

Does anyone have any help or hints, links or solutions please ?

I have a similar issue with a board here, except the volume down button is stuck down, without the connector attached!? I can't see any visible damage to the area?

Power button sorted, it was a small inductor close to the flex connector, it was open circuit....Check the inductors to the left of the board connectors, upper one is for the on off button
