iPhone 3gs sound problems

Recently I picked up a 3gs for under $20. The seller told me that everything works except the audio. To my surprise, upon unboxing it turned out that audio works just fine along with everything else. Or so I thought, but the wifi antenna couldn't find my router.

After inspection I tried to charge it and it worked just fine but as soon as I plugged in the charger there were no sounds anymore. When I disassembled it and cleaned all the dust out with alcohol (and there was a lot of it) I noticed that the shield covering the audio ic was a little bent indicating that it was opened before. That made me think that maybe the audio ic could be the culprit of the problem but that still doesn't explain how the audio worked perfectly fine before I plugged in the charger.

As far as I know the dock connector, microphone and speaker are all in one assembly. Having that in mind if I disconnect the unit the headphone jack shoud still be able to play sounds. But it didn't.

I also tried applying pressure on the audio ic but that didn't help either.

Since I'm out of ideas, does anybody have any suggestions?

Fixed the problem with a heat gun while applying pressure on the audio ic for 25 seconds on 350°C. Works fine for now, still have to fix the headphone jack though.
