Member: 1508411 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 36 | I have an idea how this is being done but will need to wait til the weekend when i have some free time to investigate. The creators say it only illlumniates when the screenlight is on, so maybe they are tapping into the two vibrator contacts. let's have some ideas here guys, it will be fun and a welcome break from the usual and mundane. The biggest issue i see is the transparency of the Apple and the thickness of the light source. |

Member: 1481974 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 42 | I say you only need to get an led strip from a broken lcd or something and plug it to the backlight cable on the lcd (should be fairly simple) the hard part would be getting the led to sit in flush and actually illuminate the apple log. I would say you will probably need to cut out the glass part on the logo and then put some sort of clear plastic that would illuminate. |

Member: 1508411 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 36 | yeah, i was looking at the back glass and can't see how they have made it transparent. A bright light does not shine through a normal silver logo. I wonder if you can buu the black back with a transaparent apple? I searched but nothing. This is really the hardest part for me as i am sure i can do the rest. Does anyone have an idea how to make the Apple logo transparent? You could scratch the paint on the back of the glass but that would look really rough. |

Member: 1508411 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 36 | yeah, you can't scratch the silver off, it looks terrible. Accessing just the glass is the easy bit, you can buy the glass without the antennae adhesive so that's not an issue. It's just how to make that silver apple translucent. Anybody have an idea? The mod on the iphone 2g is ok, because the logo is a seperate part of the iphone back plate. |
