Iphone 4 GSM not powering up

Won't turn on. Whilst charging, either beeps or vibrates every 12secs, depending on position of mute switch.
Screen looks good and no sign of impact damage (don't think it has been dropped).

Water damage indicator red on logic board screw.
Carefully cleaned area which showed obvious signs of corrosion, D1_PMU (PMEG2005AEL Rectifier diode) came away from the board.

Replaced complete screen front assembly, known to be working, tested on an icloud locked logic board.

I know its highly likely that D1_PMU is not going to be the only issue with this logic board but my first time trying to troubleshoot, I'm clearly no expert and do not do this for a living/business.

The phone does go into DFU mode and connects to itunes.

Tools available: DMM, cap meter, soldering iron(probably not much use here)
Please advise if this diode missing/being faulty would cause the fault symptoms described and the best way forward.
