Iphone 4 No imei

Hello friends, i need help to solve this issue, i know here exists many people with good potential to repair this phones (Mr. Wites, etc...etc), i am having problems with an iphone 4, when i try to restore itunes give me error (-1) and after replace battery the same problem.

I think there is a problem with voltage that needs the baseband ic, maybe somebody can tell me where to start.

thanks !!

try to update the phone normally by itunes untill you get error 1 then after that make a custom ios 5.1.1 by redsn0w without baseband update after that if your phone have a software fault it will be repair , if not working then it is hardware you need to change or reball baseband ic

Hello, thanks for sharing picture but, what voltage values exists in that points?

alexz702 08-25-2012 07:05

i don't have voltage in one of the l8 l6 l3 but i do get on the rest

L6 and L8 connects to battery so you should get battery voltage on both sides.
If only on 1 side, replace it.
Ohm out the coil and make sure they beep.

i got bit different Problem on iPhone 4.

Restore with iTunes works fine, no Error, than Phone boot up to activation Screen and
Shows "searching" without Sim Card.
Wifi, BT, Modem Firmware are okay, bit time before it works normaly after restore and
i couldt activate it in usual way, Network came and after view Minutes Network gone.

At that point i looked up into general Info an everything seems to be okay, but
if i type *#06# in Phone there is nothing. (nothing happend, no popup window)

At the moment Phone stay in activation Mode without Imei. But in General Info
there everything present. (i activate by jailbreak) Cant activate with iTunes, itunes
say there is noch simcard installed.

Anyone got any idea?

I search on pcb for broken lines by microscope but i couldnt find anything, pcb are
in very good optical condition.

Time to reball the chip. I think you cracked the solder joints under the chip.

Thx for this help too.

In Facts this ist other Phone, then taht in the other thread.
This Phone here i will wait, because it is not mine, at the other i will try to reball Chip.

Thx

Look under microscope to see if the glue around chip is cracked anywhere.
If you find cracks, most likely solder cracked too and will need reballing.
