Question iPhone 4 speaker not working

iPhone 4, ringtone and alarm work. Can not change the volume as when pushing + or - button the scale is not there. iPhone is not in mute mode. Instead it shows a ringer icon... When headphones are in there is no problem. Moment they come out, no external sound. Charging and mic working ok.

From what I can gather, the dock connector or speaker unit needs to be replaced.

From what I have described, which piece needs replacing? Can you provide a link to the piece please.

Thanks.

I should add that I replaced the headphone jack yesterday. Still no luck, hence my thinking of speaker unit or dock connector
