iphone 4 when record video NO sound - GSM-Forum

Hi all,

Does anyone had the same issues as me ?
The phone act normal but when i record a video it won't record sound aswell.

Any reply is apreciated.

Hi,

Thanks for reply.

Before getting to that point i just used an app called Qik Video Pro to record video with and surprise , the videos taken by this app have sound aswell BUT the video quality it's like an 1,3 megapixel camera.

Already tested it, in fact i updated the phone software to 4.3.5 ( before was to 4.2.1 and not working ) and still the same.

I tried everything i could ( software ) and i think the last step it will be changing something ( hardware ).

What's veird is that tiny app ( Qik Video Pro ) can record video with sound and the NATIVE camera app from the phone CAN'T.

i noticed that the iphone 4 has 2 very weak points

battery
problems with audio

there are many of them with the mic problem (solved changing the audio ic) or others problems as yours or similars, as another phone that i. am reparing now.

the battery and charging circuit is another weak point i think, many problems involving this.

hope iphone 5 will ve better in these points

What's funny with my iphone is the Qik Video Pro ( an app for record video ) can record sound aswell, the only problem is the video quality is poor ( it feels like an 1.3 megapixels camera ) .

Yeah, hope the fifth iphone will be better and worth waiting more than other models to produce it.

Now i finded other problem.

If i'm in a call and i want to put it in speaker mode, i hear the person i'm talking with but the person won't hear me, so i need to put it in normal mode.

Does anyone need this phone ?

OK, I had the same problem with my iPhone 4s not recording audio when I would record a video.

It just started happening a couple of weeks ago. I checked all my settings and could find no reason for this. Then I thought back to about two weeks ago and remembered that is when I had UConnect installed in my '08 Jeep. It's a program for hands-free talking on the phone in my vehicle. To enable it, you have to have your iPhone bluetooth setting "ON". So I just turned it on and kept it on all the time. I was all set to make an appointment at my local Apple store when I remembered this and decided to check it out. It seems that that was the problem. When I turned bluetooth "OFF" in my phone settings the video recorded audio normally! So try checking your bluetooth setting. Maybe that is your problem too.

I have same problem with my iphone 4 n iphone 5..
but i'd solve this problem..
iphone 4 : try to plug - unplug the 3,5'' jack headset, or clean the mic at the top of the phone (beside the jack hole) with smallest needle u have..

iphone 5 : check the mic between the back camera n flash, does it covered with something?? in my case, I'd covered with thin layer to protect my iphone, when it was removed, my problem was solved..

where is the Audio IC plz tell me i change the mic cable but all so same problem
tell me where is the Audio IC and my problem is no mic work in video recording and open speaker also change power cable but same problem can tell me any body ??
