problem is

its easier to use a more searchable name thats more familiar. like backlight ic, backlight diode just sound off... but you are right it is a diode not really integrated circuit, it will be edited. thank you for all so many other things Wite! . keep up the good work

Wif'es phone took a spill in the toilet...now I'm trying to repair the backlight and am waiting for the pentalobe driver so I can open the darn thing.

Reading everything on replacing a "chip" and "coil," that diode and inductor are fairly hearty parts. Has anyone tried just reflowing the solder(burning off any residual water and/or corrosion)? Those would be in series, after the capacitor, which would explain why that jumper from cap to backlight socket is an effective fix.

the diode can be short out, hence reflow wont fix it.

the coil can be either short out, or corrod by water, any change in inductance would make it useless, if it has connection beep" or not. that cap have nothing to do with the backlight circuit.

simply replace the coil in front of red dot on the display connector as per picture posed above

Hi all,
i have an iphone 4s with water damage it was turn on with power but not with battery..
but now is just dead! nothing get hot the board looking good..any idea??

Frist check light fuse. if it was open just short fuse two points. fuse is ok then but jumber
