You have to make sure its sitting in the right spot exactly. make sure the solder isn't touching different connections.

I have similar problem with two 4s phones. I have soldered many wifi chips (new ones, used, original and from china) and sometimes there is nothing going on and sometimes it gets very very hot so I have to disconnect the battery quickly.

Now the question is: what is wrong? I have changed the coil, some important resistors etc but I think maybe the black resin is blocking the chip from sitting correctly in a place? I didn't clean it too much, because I did already two other phones in the same way and they're working perfect from the very first time.

I'm sure that it is problem with wifi chip, because before I desoldered it, I reheated the chip and wifi was working.
