iPhone 5 dead

I have an iPhone 5 that is dead.

Doesn't power up, doesn't charge and doesn't sync.

When the charger cable is plugged in, seems there is a bit of heat just above the CPU. I didn't take the metal shielding off as i left my hot gun at home.

I also put the volt meter on the battery terminals while the charger was in and i didn't get any voltage readings.

Is there anything else i should check, or just go ahead and change the U2 IC?

If i get a fully charged battery from another iphone 5 will the phone come on even if the u2 ic is faulty? Or will nothing happen until i swap out u2 ic.

Many thanks in advance

So i put a new battery in. Still didn't come on.

Took the shielding off and discovered a nice bit of water damage.

Gave it a bath of isopropyl and a wee scrub. Back out bath and let it dry.

Iphone back together but still nothing. Got it back in the bath soaking.

I put the microscope on it to check for missing componates but need the schematics to double check stuff.

Anything I can do?

Thanks

So from what I can see FL38 is missing and L1202_RF is also missing.

Can I just jumper them? Or are they needed?

FL38 is a fuse, so you can jumper that
L1202_RF is a inductor, maybe you can find one from an other iphone model ,
