Do you mean to replace C154 for a new 1uF cap?
Or remove the Capacitor ?

Replacing C154 is not the solution

voltage AVDDH and AVDDN are 5.7V and -5.7V
Voltage on C154 is 11.2V

What could be the next step ?
C350, C351, and C353 ??

the reason for the fade away with sharp heavy contrast is the short to vccmain and concomittant short to the u15 negative boost supply circuit way; if you short c434 you will see this effect
check for faulty cap in line with the vccmain(3.8-4.3v) there are almost 50 caps to check for vccmain

anytime you have problem with heavy contrast in video, shadow problem with icons and letters, 'ghosting" in video, blurry video inverse color problem, this problem usually with the negative boost circuit ways (also avddn) so you should check and change diode d5, l40, c434, and lastly u15 8 pin bga and whole avddn circuit. If you short lcd_bl_ca to the next pin over on the lcm display connector, avddn(4th pin to the left) or if avddn shorts to gnd, you will damage u15 and this problem happens with messed up dark shadow display
