Iphone 5 doesn't charge at all

I tried the jumper thing, and It started to charge so slow and then it drained so fast... now It doesn't charge at all. It got stuck in %18. There is a charging icon on top right of screen, but like I said, It stuck on %18. What would the problem be?

I'm a telephone repairman, It's not my phone but I'm sure there is not dropped nor water damaged. It may charged wrong, used an unoriginal cable or charged with high voltage. My customer doesn't know at all.

iPhone 5 charging problem fix

If the iPhone 5 won't charge here is a simple fix...
1. Carefully clean the charging port with a wooden toothpick to remove lint, etc.
2. Place dental floss doubled 2-4 times into the charging hole then insert the end of the Apple certified charger cable into the port with the dental floss towards the screen, so as to exert pressure on the contacts which are towards the back of the phone.

This is just a "get by" fix, as I am out of country and not able to access an Apple store.
