iPhone 5 faulty proximity sensor?

Hi I have an iPhone 5, has not been dropped and no water damage, but it was getting error 40. I left the phone for a few days with the proximity sensor unplugged and it restored fine afterwards. I changed the proximity sensor flex with a brand new one (after restoring) and the phone worked fine with no problems at all. However after a while the phone goes into recovery mode and wont restore with the proximity sensor plugged in - I get error 2009 and it goes into dfu mode. If I unplug the flex and try to restore it restores fine and the phone works as normal.

Any idea what the problem is?

Thanks!

Simply Change the panel.. may be sensor shot. or open the panel and check the sensor with micrscope.. Is your sensor completely fit in the phone? Then tell me i will try best to proper guide you. or change the sensor.

Hi, thanks for your quick reply. I had a suspicion that the proximity flex was the issue so I changed this yesterday with a new flex, the phone was working fine afterwards. But today I have found the phone in recovery mode? When you say change the panel what do you mean? I think the proximity sensor itself is in the correct position in the small rubber bumper, as it works fine with no problem at all.

I have just tried to restore the phone again and it came back with error 2009. But then it started to work normally again?! Very strange...

This is because your i tune is not updated.
You need to update your i tune soon .
Then connect via safe mode.
After connecting you can restore your iphone.
Also make sure that PC where i tune is placed does not have virus.
Scan both PC and device files to delete virus.
Use updated antivirus only to delete the virus files.

Try it i hope your 2009 error will be solved.
