Iphone 5 memory says 8gb?


Hi I have an iphone 5, 16gb, but when plugged into iTunes it says it is 8gb? Also only 6gb free on the iphone with nothing on it!

Yeah, you can't buy an 8gb iPhone 5! They don't exist! I have checked the IMEI from the phone and it says it should be 16gb. I wonder if this is a manufacturing mistake by apple.

This does sound a bit like a baseband change to me though because the 8GB version of the iPhone 5 (if avalible) is probably only avalible in India (like they did with the 5C).

If not, phone's NAND FLASH has been damaged somehow.
