Member: 2405157 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 4 | Iphone 5 no display battery connector short I am new here but reading a lot for some time. I am working on a dropped damaged iphone 5 that has a 100% off display and vibrates ever 3 seconds. When testing it i found a short on the lcd 5,7 volt power c350 etc also i think the battery is shorted. It does only boot on usb and geta very hit when virating .. Also i was one time able to completly recover te firmware . For sone reason it was not gettibg hit this time. Any idea how to start here ... Do i need to remove the 4 lcd caps? Or how can i find the short? Also is battery short the same as on lcd ? would be very great to get some help from proffessionals Thanks and regards Monty |

Member: 2393796 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 10 | Very hard to understand you. If you have found a short then you need to trace it back to the part that is shorted. If the battery is shorted get another battery. If you mean the battery ways are shorted then maybe its the u2 ic. |

Member: 2405157 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 4 | Sorry I just checked the battery connecte again port 1 and 4 no short... Sorry and i meant the logicboard connector wihout connected battery . So we just speak about lcd voltage . Do i need to unsolder and remove capacitor by capacitor? I have just bought my new hot air soldering station for this work Thanks for your help. Monty |

Member: 2405157 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 4 | still unclear Hi there, in the diagrams i can see lcd power is PP5V7_LCD_AVDDH_CONN which has a short on my logicboard. So there are all caacitor shorted but it will mabye be only one, how can i find the damaged one? c94, c129,C350,351,353 ... How do you trace down which is defective? Regards Michael |

Member: 2405157 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 4 | ok i one of the capacitors but now i have the following issue 1. iphone is starting and asking for a sim card in itunes (no display/display disconnected, vibration motor turns every 3 seconds 2. when i connect a display i also tried a second one all gets hot quickly 3. i found the mini cap c171 is not there which is part of the display enabler circuit... but why is it getting hot with display connected? i also tried icespray to see were it starts heating up no real luck with this... Do you have any ideas how to start or what could cause that heat?...also can i short c171? with kind regards Monty |
