Member: 1016641 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 11 | iphone 5 no power on but L2 heats up It doesn't turn on but when connected to power I noticed the L2 coil getting really hot. The meter shows a short between pin 2 of the coil and ground. I was hoping it could be the zenner diode D7 but no luck... It looks like the U7 might be the culprit as the short leads straight to CHG_LX (pins H1 and H2 on U7). Is my assumption correct? Has anybody else dealt with this issue before? As a last resort I will disconnect L2 to prevent the VCC Main to get to CHG_LX just to see if the phone comes back to life, as this short is apparently killing the main voltage. Any help is really appreciated! Thank you PS: already tried: different battery, charge port assy, screen etc |

Member: 1016641 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 11 | I have disconnected L2 and no luck. To my surprise, the short is still there but in front of L2. This means something on PP VCC MAIN is shorting out, but this doesn't explain why L2 heats up when in circuit ????!!! Anybody??? Please help!!! This doesn't make any sense... |
