iphone 5 - replaced screen without dissassembly battery

Goodmorning,
I'm very new in this world.
I hope this forum will help me.
I made a big mistake, I replace an iphone 5 display without removing the battery.
The result is obviously a black screen turning the iphone on.
I wanna know if I damaged only the display or some component on the motherboard ?
I just order a new display.
Can I will see the iphone working replacing the display with the new one ?
I heard also that some display have some metal exposed and isolating them probably it will work. This is right ? How can I test the display corrupted ?
I just bought a text display flex cable by I have not idea how it works.
Thanks in advance for any help,
Brunix

Try the following :

Disconnect the battery and reconnect it again.
Try to turn on the phone.

You can make a bridge if you don't have a spare part. If you know how to do it.. if not, give the phone to a professional technician.
