IPhone 5s Lighting port replacement help

My friends iPhone 5s stopping charging unless he applied leverage on the port by bending up on the lighting cable while plugged in.

So we both figured it was the port. Bought one off amazon and installed it.

The installation process wasn't super easy but went very well.

However, the battery seems not to accept a charge at all. When I plug in a lightning cable it just bootloops and if i plugged it turns off completely.

It's like it doesn't even recognize that battery at all.

Also I did not touch the battery. I only flipped off its connection while replacing the port. I did not even attempt to remove the battery.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Hi,
I think I am in the same boat, I have the same issue.
what I noticed is that when I try to move slightly the connector on the motherboard I can have a voltage above 4V on the battery pins (1 and 4).
When I put it just normally in place, I only have something like 1V.
Did you check the voltage on the battery pins?

Not yet, I fried my meter last week. I'm gonna grab a new tomorrow and give it a shot.

Where did you buy your replacement at? Was it a OEM or generic?
