iPhone 5S Screen advice

Hi guys,

I'm fairly new to the whole repair your iPhone thing so apologies if i'm asking some pretty noobish questions.

Basically my iPhone initially got damaged (case bent but no screen damage) and was ok for a while but then started acting like the screen was being pressed constantly and was unusable. Phone was out of warranty so decided to have a go at fixing it myself (plus the charging dock was starting to get a bit temperamental).

I got all the parts, new screen, new casing and a new charging unit and managed to replace them all following various online tutorials (taking my time and being very careful). Unfortunately the screen i bought was a cheap eBay purchase and once installed had screen lines and got stuck in a red screen loop, So sent it back for a refund.

Purchased a second slightly more expensive screen and has worked well (no lines and boots correctly. After about 5minutes the bottom of the screen becomes unresponsive to touch. Rebooting seems to fix the issue but same problem occurs.

I've checked the flex cables and can't see any bent pins and i've made sure protective plate hasn't been done up to tight. I guess my question is is the issue the screen/digitizer or has the motherboard been damaged?

Also where is the best place to get new screens? it seems like a very saturated market and it's difficult to know which ones are the best to go for.

Thanks for the help and if you have any further questions let me know.

Aaron
