Iphone 5s - short weird missing ic's

Hi again,

Finally getting going with attempting to fix some of the phones i bought to repair/bit of stuff to do on the side.

So i opened up this iphone 5s and took off the emi shields and testing for short across battery terminals...there is a short.

Also since im pretty new at this stuff, by applying a low voltage and current to the terminals and finding which components heat up, i am able to find which will need replacing or reballing etc?

The weird thing i noticed though after taking the emi shields off was that there were two ic's missing!! WTH...come to the conclusion that this phone was used for parts and resold as a damaged phone....sigh

I will attach photo tomorrow, showing the missing ic's haha, but i would also like clarification on some solder pads for the capacitors surrounding them.

It seems as though they have been destroyed which would be annoying for me to attempt to repair the phone...

Any help would be appreciated

Cheers, Mohammed. ill upload picture tomorrow
