IPHONE 6 backlight ? - GSM-Forum

hello , i have an iphone 6 that was saying

(iphone needs to cool down before you can use it )

then i restart the phone and apple logo shows then black , just (backlight)

is this a backlight issue or a display ?

It is a short circuit in the backlight. Check up diode, ic, and coil backlight.

How could i know if there is a short circuit without removing any thing cuz i don't have a diode and coil

PS: The phone is detected by itunes in recovery mood i tried to get out of recovery mood with reiboot app i couldn't

and do you think the problem because of it ? i checked FL2024 in a beep mode with TP2520 it's beeping and with C2017 and it's beeping two

i Checked PP_LCM_BL_ANODE_CONN Voltage with lcd is 16.5 without lcd 20.8

The way i tested is, i put the positive in TP2520 and the negative in the gnd

So , in a beep mood i checked C1530 , C1531 and C1505 with TP2520 it's beeping is that normal ? i think it's a short circuit so if it's a short how is that happen

i'v put the negative in C1530 and the positive with (FL2024<< I don't have the filter there is a jumper) and TP2520 and J2019 Backlight pin )) it's all beeping that's mean they'r connected together is it ok that they'r connected ?

C2017 marries PP_LCM_BL_ANODE_CONN & GND, Im not sure which side of C2017 you are testing to TP2520. C2017 left pad is connected to PP_LCM_BL_ANODE_CONN, so is TP2520 so it should beep, right pad of C2017 is GND so should not beep unless shorted.

It is normal for them to beep to TP2520, only from right side but. left side pads are Ground, that will mean there is short.

Yeah ok that they are connected, they are connected by FL2024

- First I recommend to replace jumpers for FL2024 & FL2025 & FL2026 with real ferrite from other phone or new one.
- Check voltage of VCC_MAIN = 4V, if voltage low or no voltage, let me know.
- Check voltage of PP1V8 voltage = 1.8V & PP1V8_SDRAM voltage = 1.8V, if voltage low or no voltage, reball pmic
- If C2017, C2018, C2019 look like they have corrosion, repalce them
- Replace L1503 Coil
- Replace D1501 Diode
- Reball U1502 IC, better to replace if you can
- Reball PMIC

Don't do all at once, test after each step. If this not fix your problem, then issue is 90% not backlight circuit.
