So is vdd_main the same voltage as vcc_main? It shows them connected together so it's a little confusing

yes they are connected, vdd_main is input, it gets power from vcc_main which is powered by battery or by tigris buck converter

you really need some basics about circuits and how they works or else you will never understand anything i write

Thanks for your help I appreciate it. Apple's schematics tend to confuse me a bit because I'm used to seeing all inputs to the left and outputs to the right of a circuit but they like to put them in anywhere there's space on the page it seems so throws me off

Its too dificuly to find short on vcc_main
My advice open scheme search vcc_main find the Cap 10U just Capasitor not ic good luck im haved done many

You should not bench power thru battery connector to find short on VCC_main because Q1403 will sink a lot of the power and be the hottest and make the real short less apparent. Power VCC_main after Q1403 and take Q1403 out of the equation and reduce the stress on it when finding short on VCC

my batt_vcc is oscilating between 2v14 to 4v14 that could be a faulty q1403?
also have pp3v3 acc =0v that could be faulty pmic?
