Iphone won’t boot after charger burned

Hi there,
A friend gave me his 5s cause it won’t turn on since his charger burned. The charger was really melted and the cable was melted too.
When i connect my power supply, it says shorted on the connector.

What can i look at first ?

Check for burned caps.

Caps which changed color are the suspects.

Or try to lower the voltage slowly while connected on an external power supply (DCPS)

Lower the voltage until the phone draws 2 or 3 amps.

When the phone draws such current there has to be something on the motherboard that will heatup.

The source of heat will point you in a right direction.

Hope that helps.
