like iPhone 6 and 6s , 7 have no home button switch ,therefore the home key function is generated from fingerprint sensor . as we all know fingerprint sensor only works with the original phone which it comes with .. . still no solution for 7 home button

this is true on the 7 the home button is sensitve button and is paired with cpu
like NAND and BB and other stuff
so you have to use exactly the same button
so you have to check your voltage lines and check for missing connection and also if the button flex cable isn't cut .

Had a same problem with a 6s. What i did could help you if you only want a clicking homebutton insteed of using assistivetouch on screen. After this touch-id is not working.
Maby it works for a a iPhone 7 the same.

I made a wire on the housing of the phone with crocodile clamp and on the otherside a needle. Then i removed the flex comming from the homebutton en put the needle on the contacts on the mainboard to find the pin that acts like homebutton function. (By the 6s it was the sixt pin on the left from above, phone in normal position to you). Then i made a wire from the clicker of the button to the flexconnector and solderd it to the cable. Now i have a working homebutton exept touch-id.
Again dont know if this working for for a 7 but i think it will..
