Make sense of schematic please?

Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet (click to see picture)

Okay, this is just an example to help my understanding of schematics. I have access to schematics but can't really make sense of them.

For example, the top circuit pp1v8 gets 1.8v from cpu then goes to a cap (c4215) that does what? what does the 6.3v do that it says under it. then it goes through a filter (fl4209) and another cap (c4209) that has a label of 16v. But when it gets over to the connector it is still supposed to be at 1.8v right?

So I don't really understand what is happening. If it starts with 1.8v and ends with 1.8v then what is the purpose of the capacitors? What do the 6.3v and 16v represent? What does that voltage do?

A capacitor act like a noise filter on the power line. They use different values of uf (microfarad) to catch high and low power spikes. The schematic, capacitor label value 16v means that the capacitor is made to handle maximum 16volt and should be replace with the same value when it broken or missing. It does not mean that 16v should be present. when you go over 16v it will burn. To know what the power the capacitor should be getting, you have to look in the schematic. PP1V8 means 1.8volt so also on your capacitor should get 1.8volt.
PP5V1 means 5.1volt power line. Everything on this power line should be 5.1volt from start till end.
