Mr Wites

hi bro i reallly apreciate your job and experience, good to have people who likes to investigate and develop solutions

i like too

recently i have a problem and have some doubts

i was reballing the audio compiler ic i was fixed about 5 or 6 pieces by this method

recently i reball the ic , i have to add 3 balls by hand , cause i dont have especific reball stencil, i dont heat up more than 150 c the audio complier

but after reflow de ic, and try , phone when dialing put in handsfree mode by default and no audio

this happen to me in last 2 phones but this time i have not used preheater on board

Q: do you think that i am need to use preheater to avoid apply to much heat on the board to heat the solder on board and also on ic complier like i used in last 6 ones i was repaired

what is your experience using preheater

thanks for your ponit oif view

Hi friend
Sometime if temp is too low there are solder balls that connect to gnd they melt harder possible you need to rise a little the heat or to wait more, but i have other method i give less heat and use solder iron on gnd near this ic so it melt without giving too much heat, this mean that board is heated with solder iron.
Other thing you need protect CPU from too much heat, also some new ic could be defective this why some work but some not work.

problem solved by changing the audio compiler and using preheater to put again

seems this component dont tolerate to much hot, or maybe was shorted by the first time

thanks for ideas and your experience

in other hand i have another iphone 4 with audio problems but this is totaly without any sound

handsfree not work
ipod music return to the first menu after try to play
mic not work
also the handsfree its not detected on jack 3.5

i think this time is the audio codec ic, am i right ?

also i think i can use from iphone 3gs its same size , am i correct or its bad idea ?

thanks in advance
