Member: 2237604 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Nand swap iPhone 5 I have done a lot of googling and research about the possibility of recovering data from a dead iphone 5 logic board. I have 2 logic boards from an iPhone 5. One is a Verizon 32GB and one a Verizon 16GB. Now, my knowledge in circuits is very limited however I have skill in soldering and reflowing. Basically I'm good with following instructions and hope to learn as much as I can through inputs from others. The data is on the 32GB board. The 16GB board is a donor board which is okay to sacrifice. From what I've gathered I may be able to obtain the data by transplanting the CPU and NAND chip from the defective board, over to the working board (after removing original components) in order to successfully recover the data. Is anyone out there able to confirm this? Are there other chips I need to transplant? Thanks again everyone! I'll post my results after some feedback. |

Member: 2237604 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | What do you mean on the same card? Like CPU and NAND on the same logic board? That was the plan. Also any tips of removing the black resin and cpu? I'm thinking I'll source another 2 iPhone 5 Logic boards and see if I can do it once for practice before doing it with data that matters. Anyone feel competent enough with doing this successfully and getting paid to? I sometimes get people that ask about this with a damaged iPhones and some have actually gone through with $2000+ through drivesavers for recovery. In this case, it is a girlfriends phone with some vacation photos and videos. Not worth the 2K since we could take another vacation with that kind of money but I told her I could try but its all or nothing. Thanks again everyone! |
