check your lcd , where the sensor place , if the color is not to deep.
also check if there is space between 2 sensors , and take a pice of black dak tape and put between them.
just compare it to the original and see how it should be , and put black dak tape.
if you didnt understand , i will take a pic for you tomorrow what i do

This is a very common problem, I have spent many many hours with proximity sensor faults on many customer's iPhone 4 screen repair jobs.

It is almost always caused by parts - either low quality copies, or by mismatched iPhone 4 screens.

First thing you need to know is that there are different versions of iPhone 4, and they have are different proximity sensors. The earilest version - IMEI starting with 0124, has a different proximity sensor than iPhones with IMEI starting with 0125. I believe that 0125 to 0127 are all the same.

The screens taken from original iPhone 4 are also different between 0124 and 0125. On the 0124 screens the proximity sensor hole on the screen is a large oval shape. On the 0125 onwards screens this proximity sensor hole is divided into two small sections, instead of one large one.

If you take a 0124 screen and install it on a 0125 iPhone, the proximity sensor will not work.
If you take a 0125 and put it on the 0124, it will work.
Many copy screens, and many "original used" ie. refurbished screens, have this 0124 only proximity sensor, and will not work on 0125 iPhones.

In addition to this, some copy screens have faulty proximity sensor holes.

Summary, it's almost always due to low quality copy parts, faulty parts, or using a 0124 screen (large oval proximity sensor hole) on a 0125 onwards iPhone 4.

You can test it yourself, take an iPhone 4 that has a faulty proximity sensor after having had its screen repaired, and reinstall an original screen. Now test it and 90% of the time you'll find that it works fine.

Hope that helps.
