Strange iPhone 5 Bottom Mic Problem

Long time reader, first time poster...

I have run into a very strange problem with an iPhone 5. After a screen replacement, the bottom microphone stopped working (no one can hear me on regular calls and voice recorder picks up nothing) . I suspected a loose connection or dock flex. Well after trying 4 different dock flexes I still have the same problem. I have tried resetting all settings, and even a full DFU restore. I have even pulled the logic board, hooked up a fresh dock connector and power flex, No dice.

I have checked the connector under a microscope and it looks perfect (no missing / damaged pins or traces). Whats really odd, I can short a couple of pins on the logic board dock connector port and get static in voice recorder. Also, the microphone on the earpods will work.

Anyone have any ideas on this one? I'm stumped.

PS ... I own a repair shop in Savannah, GA and work on iDevices and Samsung phones everyday. I will do my best to contribute back.

Any ideas anyone? I've ruled out liquid damage as well.
