what's problem?

1. Is Your battery fully charged ?
2. Do You use JIG, or You have soldered wires ?

1. I used ext. cable which can supply power to phone via usb

From manual :

Samsung S8500 PDA is based on the S5PCxxx Processor (ARM core is Cortex-A8).
Please note, one simple way to connect over JTAG - connect USB cable to PC and insert battery. In this case phone is automatically powered on, so no need to press any power-on buttons on the phone keypad.

Anyway, simple logic says that there is problem either with target power, or connection.


I dont have any more suggestions then those which are already included in manual :

Most common errors:

v The NRST signal is not connected. Pease ALWAYS SOLDER THE NRST SIGNAL whenever it is present on the schematics. In case you have JIG please make sure NRST is routed, if not - solder wire manually.
v Connection is unstable or cannot be established at all. Please make sure JTAG wires are of the SAME LENGTH and total length of each wire not exceeds ~10...15 cm; make sure a fixed TCK frequency is selected (since device has no RTCK signal).
