I9100G RIFF Beta Testing

Hi RIFF Team,

I have a dead i9100G and would like to participate with a coder or support member on getting it resurrected. My soldering skills are great and I am an advanced user. Can somebody please contact me about working with this? I can produce full dump as well after the repair is made for RIFF team to use. I was working with Legija via ICQ when I got word that he would be able to possibly use me for this test so I had my customer send it in. I haven't been able to connect with Legija as he has not been on ICQ and I can't PM him and I don't use Sonork.

Just give me a shout when we can schedule a time or delete this thread and contact me directly if that works better.

Thanks!

ICQ = Josh Groce

I have target pinout mapped and connected. I can't analyze the chain though. Looking for some leads. This is a good opportunity for RIFF team to help resurrect the i9100G along with me if you guys are looking for a knowledgeable RIFF user with the device already mapped and connected.

Open serial port...OK
Connecting to the RIFF Box...OK
Firmware Version: 1.26, JTAG Manager Version: 1.35
Selected Custom Target: [OMAP4430, 2.80V, TAP0]

Connecting to the OMAP4430 target...OK
Set I/O Voltage reads as 2.79V, TCK Frequency is 8 MHz

Target ID on TAP0: 0x3BA00477 - Connected OK

I'm unable to scan the JTAG chain using TCK or RTCK although I don't have an RTCK signal connected as I don't believe this model requires it. Any thoughts team?

I think 18MHz clock speed is too low. You should try 280MHz

Hey I know what you mean but it actually worked best at that speed. I would hang up earlier on at other speeds. I may try to use my power supply instead of the battery and adjust voltages. Has this resurrector worked on other models for you guys or am I trying to produce a worlds first resurrection with it?

Tried again at 8MHZ and BAM! Let's get a working dump people with working i9100G's!!!

Open serial port...OK
Connecting to the RIFF Box...OK
Firmware Version: 1.26, JTAG Manager Version: 1.35
Selected Resurrector: [Samsung i9108]

Connecting to the dead body...OK
Detected dead body ID: 0x3BA00477 - CORRECT!
Set I/O Voltage reads as 2.61V, TCK Frequency is 8 MHz

Resurrection sequence started.
Establish communication with the phone...OK
Initializing internal hardware configuration...OK
Uploading resurrector data into memory...OK
Starting communication with resurrector...OK

Detected an Initialized FLASH1 Chip, ID: 0x0015/0x0001 (0x03AB400000 Bytes)

Hey! Nothing to flash, we have no data yet!

Legija, is all that remains here is to get a full read of a working phone being that it passed that point?

I think there is a bug in the resurrector that won't allow a READ of the chip. It reads fine for about 10 seconds then fails with this...

READ command is working much better at 1Mhz now. The device is very finnicky to get it into a condition to accept JTAG. I think I have it down though.

If you are testing this DLL follow the following steps to connect:

1) Connect wires to board
2) Insert battery
3) Insert USB Download mode JIG - Samsung Galaxy S Download Mode JIG - MobileTechVideos.COM
4) Remove JIG and connect USB cable after 5 seconds (device is now powered on internally)
5) Connect both RIFF USB cable and phone USB cable to your pc
6) Set TCK Speed to 1mhz-8mhz (find one that works well). 1mhz is best for read.

If we get a full dump for this phone we can probably produce the repair!

Phone resurrected! Options available now via RIFF update for X loader intact and X loader not intact. Just use the one that works with your phone's condition. If anyone has a modem.bin file I could use it. I have full firmware but modem.bin doesn't seem to be valid for it.
