Riff box damaged

I could never take anything from riff, and my questions were let down. My new question is very specific, only require a yes or no. but, if wanna help beyond that, would be awesome. Is this riff box hw damaged or not?

all the time, what I get is:

PHP Code:
Open serial port...OK
Connecting to the RIFF Box
...OK
Firmware Version
1.16JTAG Manager Version1.22
Selected Resurrector
: [HTC Magic 32A]

Connecting to the dead body...ERROR
ERROR
The RTCK Signal does not respond
tried 4 different phones, one of them still alive (hd2, g1, 2x g2), checked soldering dozens of times, wondered how stupid could I be to not make it work a hundred times, and so on. i´m not a newbie, and can use ort with no probs.

after wasting much, much time trying to get riff to work, today I did, with an sapphire, but only one time, and nothing else. it´s the first time riff communication says 'i´m here'.

PHP Code:
Open serial port...OK
Connecting to the RIFF Box
...OK
Firmware Version
1.16JTAG Manager Version1.22
Selected Resurrector
: [HTC Magic 32A]

Connecting to the dead body...OK
Detected dead body ID
0x301700E1 CORRECT!
Set I/O Voltage reads as 2.61VTCK Frequency is RTCK
Adaptive Clocking RTCK Sampling is
: [Sample at 100 kHz]

Resurrection sequence started.
Establish communication with the phone...OK
Initializing internal hardware configuration
...FAILED
ERROR
Wrong response code from the RIFF Box0x45
and that´s it. i have no warranty (and even if I did, shipping gets too expensive), already opened the box and resoldered every resistor, conector or whatever.

any chance for it, or its fate is trash can?

[ just to discard possible already tried sugestions ]

- used 4 or 5 usb a-b cables, good quality ones
- used inicially the flat cable that came with box, then tried my own
- usb cable length = 35cm - jtag cable = 15cm
- phone connected with usb cable (tried connect to box, and to back usb)
- phone fed by regulated power source, usb, battery
- tried with athlon x2 and core 2 duo pc´s, and a core2 quad notebook

Hi,

Of course it is possible that there is some problem with box hardware.
If You for any reason cannot send box to factory for repair, You could check xilinx soldering, but there is no guarantee it will work afterwards. Though some users had success after resoldering it.

Check this image for correctly soldered Xilinx :

You can also check the RTC Chrystal.

My problem is now solved. Bought another riff box, and threw the old one in the trash. Hope this one last longer, but with 2 htc g2 and 1 hd2 repaired, at least box already paid itself.

Would be a good thing to have more attention to hardware production, so others users don't get same issue. Riff is the best jtag box, as long as it's alive..
