RIFF Update Server Instructions (Registration, Username and Password Recovery)

Hello dear RIFF Box users !

Here You can read important instructions related to RIFF Update server, RIFF Box registration and troubleshooting.

First few very important warnings:

• DO NOT run or download any software which is not at official RIFF JTAG Box page ( RIFF Box ? Best JTAG Box in this Galaxy )
• DO NOT post RIFF Box PCB photos, RIFF Box Serial Number or any screenshots on public forums. This is allowed ONLY in Support Tickets section.
• If it's possible, always use Windows 7 to update RIFF Box firmware
• Make sure that Your HOSTS file is not compromised by 3rd party software. Please visit this page to learn how to fix it:
  
  How can I reset the Hosts file back to the default?

Now, please follow below listed instructions to update Your RIFF Box Firmware and download Your license file:

• Download latest RIFF Setup file from here : RIFF Setup , and execute it.
• Start RIFF JTAG Manager and simply follow instructions from software:
  If Your box is not registered, click "Connect Server":

  Enter Your desired login (user name) password and e-mail address. It's best if You have Gmail account !

  Confirm Your password and e-mail address:
  .
  
  .
  If You have done everything properly, You'll have following screen:
  .
  
  
  This means that Your box is registered ok, and license file is downloaded to Your PC. Now You can proceed to update RIFF Box Firmware.
  Click "Firmware Update" and enter login/password:
  .
  
  .
  New Firmware will be downloaded and Your RIFF Box will be updated.
  Take note - If You use Windows XP, You may need to re-connect USB Cable on RIFF Box, in order to finish the update properly !

Now Your RIFF Box is registered, and You can continue using it.

Possible problems and errors, and solutions:

• Login or Password is incorrect:

  .
  
  In this case, You should re-check Your login/password, and if You have lost it or forgot it, You should click "Recover Password" button:

  Now, enter Your registered e-mail address to receive authorization code:
  .
  
  .
  If You have entered correct e-mail address, You'll have this screen:
  .
  
  .
  Now check Your Inbox for new e-mail:
  (Note that e-mail can be moved to spam or junk folder !)
  

  Hi yourusername. Authorization Code for JTAG Manager: FE3FC2CBD0ABE510

  Enter the code in "Authentification code" field, and new password in password field, then click continue:

  Now Your new password is activated, and You can log in to server to download license or update firmware.

• E-mail address wrong, e-mail not received, and other stupid excuses:
  
  Open support ticket and provide Your Box Serial number, and of course explanation of Your problem.
• Network Connection problems:
  
  - Error 0x3C, 0x45 and similar - change Your Internet Service provider, or use VPN.
  
  - "Connecting to Update Server" forever - Make sure that Your HOSTS file is not poisoned by unauthorized software. Read about HOSTS file on Wikipedia.
  
  - Some "smart" users run webserver on their PC. One of such is "kosmonaft". You should shut down the webserver and free TCP Port 80.
  
  - Some users from non-democratic countries such as KSA, Yemen, Bahrain and Lebanon should be aware of that and also use VPN to access update server. Or, start uprising and free Your contry. USA will help.

• Your RIFFBox failed to pass verification procedure ! ! !

  .
  If You have such error, it means that Your RIFF Box is probably clone. You can fill out requested fields in form if You wish, and after that You should request replacement from Your dealer.
  
  
  In case that Your box is 2 or 3 years old, You should contact Your dealer for verification procedure. It's possible that some legit users receive such error, due to database failure we suffered in year 2012.

Any posts in this section of forum related to update procedure, any sort of problems with it will be deleted. Please simply follow above mentioned steps to resolve Your problems.
