ZTE MF180 No response from the RIFF Box after write the wrong firmware


hello riff team specially legija sir


have a nice day to all stuff of riffbox


well we shorten a request regarding my problem

Brand : ZTE
Model : MF180
Problem : dead boot
Lock network : lock on smart telecom ( Philippines )
Back up : i already made a back up ( encase i get problem )


History taken : im just simple resurrect the modem to repair the dead boot, after i repair and flash the dump file as the manual. but the problem is

i smock a wrong firmware of my modem instead of MF180, i smock a dump file for MF637. i did not notice about that, and flashing completely without my knowing that i write the wrong file , so i tried to power or insert the modem into ant usb port or my pc but nothing happen it wont detect the modem driver or any sign for connecting the new device in usb port


now the big problem is after flashing i try to resurrect again and write to original file ( my back up ) but when i click the resurrection i get this error even i changing speed from lower to higher

i also check the ID for this modem under JTAG/write tab and here is the log

now i try to write direct plugin using the new update and changing the base address from any number there to get some reaction but im not lucky

Hi,
This is specific problem, caused by alien code flashed into modem.
It prevents CPU to enter required reset state. I remember few users had something similar with MF627, and it was resolved by shorting CS0 to gnd prior to booting.

I think in this case, You'll need to find CS0 TP, thus disabling flash chip while starting up CPU core.
Since I dont have schematics for this modem, I cant help You further with this.

thanks for your shorten clue, now atlest we have guide that the software has no power to repair, i will try to find the schematic of this modem, hopefully im locky to find it,

r somebody have good mind to share it
