flash RM-971 with RM-970 firmware ??? - GSM-Forum

I need to change the frecuency band of rm971 to 900MHz, I would like to try flashing with Rm-970 firmware.

can someone confirm if this would or wouldn't kill the phone?

if the band doesnt change after this, I know I should try some hardware mod, but I want to start at the firmware.

Awesome, will download latest version and will try, is there any issue with these mtk phones if there is a downgrade attempt? does it requires any special procedure to downgrade? like rapido, rapu, etc?

No, there is no any problem. Just flash need and that is all.
Just tick "RPL backup" once , just to have backup

Backup - can send on sprevive(at)gmail.com .

Hello. Flash back original FW. It will be Ok.
Seems as cross-flashing work well only between Single/Dual sim models. Like 108/108DS , 225/225DS and similar.

Well, I flashed with rm969, and it just power on to NOKIA logo and power down or reboot.

I flashed back to rm 971 and gave it back to customer

Probably it would convert to 900mhz if the network filters are jumped.

maybe the firmware has all bands built in

No, you can't. It will be useless brick - without IMEI.
